The Atlanta Hawks finished the season strong, taking seven of their last 10 games, and their reward will be home court advantage in a first-round series against the Atlantic Division champion Boston Celtics.
The Hawks (40-26) and Boston (39-27) have faced off in the playoffs only once since 1988, a 2008 series in which an 8th seeded Atlanta pushed the soon-to-be Finals winning Celtics to seven games. This Hawks squad is a good deal more seasoned than that one, but won't have center Al Horford available unless they advance further into the playoffs.
The full series schedule is as follows:
GAME 1 (Sunday, April 29, in Atlanta) - 7 ET (TNT)
GAME 2 (Tuesday, May 2, in Atlanta) - 7:30 ET (NBA TV)
GAME 3 (Friday, May 4, in Boston) - 7:30 ET (ESPN2)
GAME 4 (Sunday, May 6 in Boston) - 7 ET (TNT)
GAME 5 (Tuesday, May 8 in Atlanta) - TBD (TV to be determined)
GAME 6 (Thursday, May 10 in Boston) - TBD (TV to be determined)
GAME 7 (Saturday, May 12 in Atlanta) - TBD (TNT)

The Dallas Mavericks will rest Jason Kidd tonight in their regular season finale matchup with the Atlanta Hawks. The Mavericks are expected to have all of their remaining players in uniform and available tonight but will be monitoring minutes closely according to coach Rick Carlisle.
"We have a plan for tonight and we'll execute that plan," Carlisle said.
Dallas' playoff position is not guaranteed as of yet but the Mavericks need help from the Minnesota Timberwolves if they are to move into the sixth spot on the last day of the season. The Mavericks need to defeat the Hawks tonight and have the Timberwolves knock off Denver to secure the sixth seed and avoid Oklahoma City in the first round.
The day off for Kidd means that the veteran point guard will have seven full days of rest before the Mavericks open play in the playoffs.

The remaining playoff schedule will be announced following tonight's schedule of games. With a win over the Dallas Mavericks tonight the Atlanta Hawks can secure home court advantage meaning that Sunday's game would take place at Philips Arena. Atlanta can also secure home court if Boston loses its Thursday night matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks. A Hawks loss combined with a Boston win however would give the Celtics four home games in the potential seven game series.

The location for Game 1 won't be known until after tonight's games. Atlanta can nail down home court advantage in the first-round of the playoffs with a win over the Dallas Mavericks or a Boston loss to Milwaukee. The Celtics are guaranteed to slide no lower than the fourth seed due to their winning the Atlantic Division but home court is determined by the better record. Atlanta enters play tonight with a one game lead over Boston. The Celtics however hold all of the tiebreakers.

Atlanta Hawks guard Jannero Pargo will be a game-time decision for tonight's regular season finale against the Dallas Mavericks according to a report by the Chris Vivlamore of the AJC.
According to the report, Pargo has been nursing a stiff back and is listed as doubtful but is a game-time decision. Atlanta will also be without the services of Zaza Pachulia and Al Horford for tonight's game against the Mavericks.
