Celtics Vs. Hawks: Doc Rivers Says Ray Allen Is Out For Game 1

Stay connected for news and updates

The Celtics will be without Ray Allen for tonight's Game 1 matchup with the Atlanta Hawks according to coach Doc Rivers.

Allen was listed as a game-time decision and came out and attempted to go through his pregame ritual on the floor. The decision was made after that to hold him out of Game 1. Allen has been battling an ankle injury that is going to require surgery as soon as the Celtics' season ends.

Allen had given way to Avery Bradley in the starting lineup but Boston will miss his scoring punch off the bench with the second unit. The Hawks will be without centers Zaza Pachulia and Al Horford for Sunday's Game 1.
