Hawks Offseason 2012: Al Horford To Continue Rehab For Injured Pectoral

Hawks Center Al Horford made his return to the court in Game 4 of Atlanta's first round loss to the Boston Celtics. Horford looked shaky in his first game out but settled in over the next two games to remind Hawks fans of exactly what the club missed after he went down with a torn pectoral muscle on January 11 against the Indiana Pacers.

Following the team's loss in Game 6 of the playoffs, Horford offered up no regrets for waiting until Game 4 to return saying simply that he wasn't ready. Originally he had ruled himself out of the entire first-round series but elected to return once the Hawks had their backs against the wall.

Now that the season is over Horford will continue rehab on his injury with hopes of being 100 percent by the start of next season's training camp.

"I'm very limited," he said. "I made a lot of progress in two weeks but I'm about 50 or 60 percent strength." "I knew I had a ways to go. Even when I came back, I felt limited. I gave it all I had for the team and for the city. Our city had big expectations for us. It was unfortunate we had a number of injuries and couldn't do what we wanted."
