The Atlanta Hawks emerged as one of three new suitors for the Orlando Magic on Wednesday in the long and bizarre trade talks to unload Dwight Howard. Along with the Lakers and Rockets, Atlanta was thought to be a potential destination after the Brooklyn Nets resigned Brook Lopez and basically removed themselves from the race. However, Orlando could be trying to make amends with their embattled superstar:

Atlanta's best pitch to Orlando/Howard was thought to be a trade involving Al Horford to Orlando and the potential of reuniting Howard with childhood friend Josh Smith, if Howard was willing to sign long term.
