The Atlanta Hawks are looking at bringing in David Blatt to be an assistant coach.

The Atlanta Hawks are in need of a new assistant coach, and the team is literally searching the globe to find the right person for the job. That person the team is looking at is David Blatt who currently is the head coach of EuroLeague power Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Blatt also was the head coach of the Russian national team for the past five years, and led them to the bronze at the 2012 London Olympics, and in some circles he is regarded as one of the best coaches within the international game.

Hawks head coach Larry Drew has been in Israel to scout how well Blatt is as a head coach, and the two are expected to meet as well. Blatt did recently sign a three year extension with Maccabi Tel Aviv, so the Hawks would have to work out some sort of buy out.

Blatt has built a very good career in Israel leading a top team in the EuroLeague, so it is no guarantee he will take the Hawks assistant job if offered.
