The Los Angeles Dodgers repaid the Atlanta Braves for their walk-off win on Friday with a 6-2 victory at Turner Field on Saturday.

The Braves took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on an RBI double from Martin Prado, but the Dodgers rallied back in the second with a series of bombs. Hanley Ramirez, James Loney, and Luis Cruz hit three solo shots in the span of four Ben Sheets pitches to give L.A. the lead, one the Dodgers wouldn't relinquish.

Ramirez would add a three-run homer off Sheets in the sixth, and Prado swatted a solo shot in the bottom of the ninth, but neither impacted the outcome.

The Braves remain comfortably ahead of the Pittsburgh Pirates for the first wild card spot in the National League, but trail the Washington Nationals by four games in the NL East.

The rubber match of the Braves-Dodgers series will be played Sunday at 1:35 p.m. Eastern, with Mike Minor dealing versus Los Angeles' Chad Billingsley.

The Indiana Fever may have dealt a blow Atlanta Dream's chances of repeating as the WNBA's Eastern Conference champions in 2012 with an 86-72 win on Saturday night.

Katie Douglas poured in 29 points for the Fever and Tamika Catchings added 17 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. Angel McCoughtry had 22 points to lead the Dream, but just two other Atlanta players scored in double figures.

The win is Indiana's second over Atlanta this season, and it drops the Dream to 10-12 on the year with just 13 games remaining. That's still good for third in the Eastern Conference, but the Dream will likely need to beat out the Fever -- who moved to 13-7 with the win -- to have home court advantage in even the first round of the 2012 WNBA Playoffs. The Dream trail Indiana 2-1 in the season series.

Then again, the Dream made the WNBA Finals in 2010 and 2011 as the fourth and third seed in the East, respectively. So maybe home court's not quite so important to McCoughtry's squad?

Mark Richt says his team played "pretty good" in a Wednesday scrimmage — but that "pretty good" will not get his Bulldogs the sort of season that lives up to their lofty preseason expectations, according to Seth Emerson at The (Macon) Telegraph.

"Like I told the team, I thought we looked like a pretty good team. But you know, pretty good’s about 8-4," Richt said. "Maybe 9-3 if you’re lucky. But we’d like to do better than 8-4. And that’s about how we played (Wednesday)."

One of the factors that may have Richt a bit pessimistic on Georgia's chances? His offense's casual approach to ball security. Georgia quarterbacks threw three interceptions on Wednesday, and each of the four quarterbacks to take a snap fumbled the ball. Aaron Murray, Georgia's incumbent starter and one of the best signal-callers in the nation, had both a pick and a fumble.

Georgia's freshman running backs, however, were stellar, with Todd Gurley running for 87 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries and Keith Marshall picking up 62 yards on five carries. If either or both can provide the production of dismissed tailback Isaiah Crowell, Georgia could be better than pretty good on the ground.

The Publix Georgia Marathon will be run Sunday, March 18, at 7:00 a.m., and you are now glad you're not running it.

When you think of Publix, the first thing you think about is running, and that's why the Publix Georgia Marathon has become a time-honored Atlanta tradition dating back to 2007. The 2012 Publix Georgia Marathon takes place on Sunday, March 18, as Georgians with no teams in the 2012 NCAA Tournament get together to run a very long way.

The 2012 Georgia Marathon route begins at the outskirts of Centennial Olympic Park and winds its way through the city from the southwest to the east and all the way out to Decatur before heading back west again to finish on the other side of the park. Runners will wind their way through Five Points, Midtown, Little Five Points, Druid Hills, and Virginia Highland before making the turn south for the home stretch.

The Georgia Marathon begins at 7:00 a.m. on March 18, and more spectator information is available at the Marathon website. Registered runners must pick up packets from the Georgia Marathon Health and Fitness Expo on Friday, March 16 or Saturday, March 17 to participate.

Only the Tampa Bay Buccaneers stand between the Atlanta Falcons and the 2011 NFL playoffs.

The Atlanta Falcons have a chance to avoid meeting their New Orleans nemesis in the first round of the 2011 NFL playoffs. All they have to do in Week 17 is beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and hope the Detroit Lions fall to the Green Bay Packers.

Of those two tasks, beating the Buccaneers is by far the easier one. Tampa Bay enters Week 17 on a nine-game losing streak, and has lost its last four games by a combined 94 points.

The 2011 Sun Bowl matches a Georgia Tech team that began the 2011 college football season as one of the nation's most explosive teams with a Utah squad that scored 30 points in three of its last four games (before scoring just 14 points in its regular season finale against Colorado, but whatever). That already puts the game on pace to be better than the 2008 Sun Bowl, one of the all-time benchmarks for bowl season futility.

In that game, Oregon State beat Pittsburgh, 3-0. The two teams combined for 451 yards of total offense, and that was one of their more respectable numbers. They also completed 30 of a combined 71 passes, converted a combined five of 32 third down tries, had no plays of over 30 yards, and punted 20 times combined. Both teams were ranked heading into the game, and produced a rank spectacle that was the lowest-scoring bowl game since 1959.

So chin up, Yellow Jackets and Utes. There's only an infinitesimal chance that you will end up playing the least inspiring Sun Bowl ever.

Is it any wonder that the Falcons are massive favorites in the Week 17 match-up between the two teams?

SB Nation's odds partner OddsShark has the Falcons as double-digit favorites, with the line opening at 10.5 and rising to 11.5, even 12 points.

The Falcons are playing for the No. 5 spot in the NFC playoff hierarchy, which would save them from a trip to see the New Orleans Saints or San Francisco 49ers in the first round of the 2011 NFL playoffs.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers aren't expected to put up much of a fight against the playoff-bound Atlanta Falcons in Week 17, but being without Kellen Winslow might make their chances of pulling an upset even more minuscule.

Winslow missed practice on Friday due to something that is not injury-related, and his status for Sunday's game is unclear.

The rest of the Buccaneers injury report is relatively clean: Jeremy Trueblood is out with a concussion, and wide receiver Arrelious Benn and defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth are both questionable, but no other major name is worse than probable.

The Atlanta Falcons are hoping for the No. 5 seed in the NFC playoffs, and will need to win in Week 17 to claim that standing. (They will also be hoping for a Detroit Lions loss.) Fortunately, the Falcons are quite healthy heading into their match-up with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

No Falcons are listed as out for Sunday's game, and just two, little-used Kerry Meier and linebacker Stephen Nicholas, are listed as doubtful. Defensive end Ray Edwards and Brent Grimes are both listed as questionable with knee injuries.

Here's the rest of the Falcons injury report for Week 17:
