The Falcons are off to a 4-0 start, but right tackle Tyson Clabo is experiencing one of the worst slumps of his career.
Atlanta Falcons right tackle has gotten off to a poor start to the 2012 season, according to SB Nation Falcons fan site, The Falcoholic. Clabo gave up three sacks in the first three games of the year, and was part of a seven-sack disaster in last Sunday's victory over the Carolina Panthers.
"Considering the majority of those sacks came through the right side of the line," the Falcoholic wrote, "Clabo looked like he was living out his nightmares."
Despite Clabo's struggles, quarterback Matt Ryan has shined for the Falcons. He's currently sporting a 112 quarterback rating, according to ESPN, and has completed close to 70 percent of his passes. Ryan has 11 touchdowns on the season, and only two interceptions.
One of the possible causes of Clabo's rough start could be a hip injury that had him limited in practice participation last week. Clabo wasn't on today's injury report, and figures to be ready to go for Atlanta against the Washington Redskins this weekend. The Falcons would certainly welcome a better performance from their previously-steady stalwart on the offensive line.
