NFL Power Rankings 2012: Falcons cream of the crop again

The Atlanta Falcons are the kings of the NFL, so sayeth the Power Rankings.

As the only undefeated team left in the NFL, it should come as no surprise that the Atlanta Falcons are No. 1 in the SB Nation NFL Power Rankings once again after a dominating victory on the road over the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday.

Of course, Ryan Van Bibber thinks there could be some overvaluing of Atlanta just based on their record, and that there's plenty of competition in the NFC to lay claim to the top. Still, the upcoming schedule is looking tasty for Atlanta:

"1. Atlanta Falcons (LW: 1, 7-0) All the Falcons did this week was beat the Eagles, 30-17, in Philadelphia. Lost Sunday in all the rubbernecking of Andy Reid's slow march to pink-slip land was a dominant Falcons team in control of its own destiny. This undefeated thing could last awhile, too. Mike Smith and Co. do not play a team that currently has a winning record until a Week 15 date with the Giants, a potential preview of the NFC Championship."

Atlanta tops the charts for the power rankings over at CBS Sports and ESPN, as well. CBS' Pete Prisco loves the passing attack:

"At 7-0, they are a different team than the one that went 13-3 two years ago. Why? They can throw it around on anybody."

Atlanta gets the national spotlight this Sunday night when the Falcons host the Dallas Cowboys at 8:20 p.m. ET.
