Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones said he's completely recovered from the hand injury that slowed him down last week against the Carolina Panthers, and he's ready to go Sunday against the Washington Redskins.
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones was slowed down by a hand injury against the Carolina Panthers last week, but said that he's 100 percent ready to go against the Washington Redskins as the Falcons try to go 5-0 for the first time in franchise history.
Jones suffered a laceration in the first play of the game against the San Diego Chargers on Sept. 23. Since then, Jones has been bothered by the injury, offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter said. But Jones wouldn't blame the injury, rather that he was being double covered by the Panthers.
The Washington secondary, which has struggled this season, ranking 31st in the league pass defense giving up 326 yards a game, is going to have to pick its poison against the Falcons.
Both Jones and Roddy White have had big games this season, and Matt Ryan is playing like an MVP candidate so far. Jones said it's hard to know what kind of look they will get from Washington, but that he feels like the Atlanta receivers are better athletes than opposing safeties when the ball is in the air.
