2011 NFL Draft Prospects: A.J. Green Should Leave Georgia, But Trinton Sturdivant Shouldn't

WR A.J. Green and OL Trinton Sturdivant were among the several Georgia Bulldogs players who met with Atlanta Falcons president Rich McKay to discuss their 2010 NFL Draft status. No word on what advice McKay, a former general manager, offered each player, but SB Nation’s draft community Mocking The Draft has some for Sturdivant: enjoy Athens.

The six-foot-five junior tackle only played a handful of snaps in 2008 and 2009 due to left knee injuries, meaning NFL scouts don’t have very much to go by on him. They’d also be highly worried about his injury-proneness, and giving them a healthy season to look at would ease at least some of those concerns.

He definitely has NFL size, and played decently for most of the year, but sticking around for his senior year is more likely to pay off in the long run. He’s projected as a sixth- or seventh-round pick at the moment.

Green, of course, should go. If he likes money, that is. It would be a shocker if he wasn’t a top-ten pick.
