2011 NFL Draft: Justin Houston Requests Advisory Committee Advice

Stay connected for news and updates

Junior Georgia Bulldogs LB Justin Houston has sent his name into the NFL’s draft advisory committee, according to Seth Emerson. Houston has been projected to be picked as high as the late first round, but he’d like a free opinion from NFL scouts on the matter before he makes the decision to go pro. (HINT: He’s probably going pro.)

He says he’ll wait until after the Liberty Bowl to make a decision. WR A.J Green and OL Trinton Sturdivant are among other Dawgs seeking advice on whether to make the jump or not. (HINT: A.J. Green would be a maniac to leave that type of paper on the table.)

Blue-chip pass rushers are always risky bets for NFL teams, but the position is so important that teams will always be willing to take a shot. He has the frame to bulk up and play defensive end, or he could stay quick and line up as a 3-4 edge rusher.

Houston has been named second-team AP All America, first-team All-SEC, and a Bronko Nagurski Award finalist.
