John Brantley Injury: Jacoby Brissett Next In Line, Says Charlie Weis

Stay connected for news and updates

Florida quarterback John Brantley is expected to make the start for Florida in Saturday's match up against Georgia. If Brantley is unable to return from injury, then the start will likely go to Jacoby Brissett who is the No. 2 quarterback for this week. Florida offensive coordinator Charlie Weis says that Brissett is "slightly ahead" of Jeff Driskel for the back up position.

Brissett has appeared in two games this season and has completed 13 of 24 passes for 139 yards. He has thrown one touchdown and three interceptions on the season. Brissett's best effort of the season came against LSU when he completed 8 of 14 for 94 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions.

Jeff Driskel has appeared in five games for the Gators and has completed 16 of 34 passes for 148 yards. The freshman has no touchdowns and two interceptions on the season.
