Larry Munson Dead: Voice Of Georgia Bulldogs Passed Away, According To Report

Larry Munson has died, according to reports.

Larry Munson, the longtime voice of the Georgia Bulldogs, died Sunday night, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Reports had circulated throughout the evening from the Red & Black and elsewhere.

AJC UGA@ajcuga The AJC has confirmed that legendary UGA broadcaster Larry Munson passed away tonight. He was 89.    

Munson, 89 years old, will be best remembered for calling Georgia football games from 1966 to 2008. He also handled Atlanta Falcons duties, along with various other broadcasting efforts. An inductee into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame, he's also been honored by the College Football Hall of Fame, been named the Georgia Sportscaster of the Year, and was presented with an honorary varsity letter from the University of Georgia.

His iconic calls will live forever among UGA fans. More to come as details become available.

He was hospitalized just a couple months earlier in the year for a respiratory ailment.
