Georgia Vs. Georgia Tech: Larry Munson To Be Honored At Grant Field

Stay connected for news and updates

Could not approve of this move more. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will include departed Georgia Bulldogs announcer Larry Munson in a memorial just before the two rivals take the field. Wes Durham, 790 The Zone's Georgia Tech play-by-play announcer, who's counted himself as an admirer and friend of Munson's, will lead proceedings.

Former Tech All-American Hal Miller, a co-captain of the 1952 championship team, and Georgia broadcasting legend Larry Munson, both of whom died this week, will be honored in a pregame ceremony led by Tech play-by-play voice Wes Durham. It will take place just before the senior-day recognition.

There will be grumbles from a small portion or two of Bobby Dodd Stadium, but Durham is sufficiently respected among Jackets fans to quell any who might be short-sighted enough to have a problem with this. The very few Tech fans who won't appreciate the gesture will quickly get over it.
