Around the perimeter of the Atlanta sports world.

Consider the underhanded genius of former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Zach Mettenberger. Since getting kicked out of Athens for detestable bar room behavior, he's landed with the LSU Tigers, where his only noteworthy task to date has been killing five minutes of clock against the Mississippi Rebels.
Now, would you look at where we stand entering the SEC Championship Game:
@marcweiszer Richt says he hasn't thought about former UGA QB Zach Mettenberger helping LSU staff . "He might be. We haven't changed an awful lot."

College coaches don't change up terminology upon player exits, as pro coaches sometimes do, since it's extremely rare they'll ever cross paths again. Even with Mettenberger in the SEC, the narrow chance of a conference title game meeting didn't merit any dramatic alterations. And now it's much too late in the season to go and tinker with too many basic offensive signals.
You may think these Dawgs victims of circumstance, but consider again that Mettenberger may have planned this moment. He could've picked a much less despicable way to leave Georgia in the first place, though.
