Georgia is expected to approaching the No. 15 spot once the latest BCS standings are released Sunday night.
The Georgia Bulldogs routed the New Mexico St. Aggies 56-13 in their last non-conference game of the season and with that win, look to make a jump in the BCS standings. Georgia, who came in at No. 18 in last week's BCS standings, should move up a few spots with higher-ranked teams losing. The No. 15-ranked Michigan Wolverines were upset by the Iowa Hawkeyes, the No. 10-ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers lost to the Northwestern Wildcats, who came into the game at 3-5 and were unranked, and the No. 14-ranked Kansas St. Wildcats lost to the Oklahoma St. Cowboys.
As for the rest of the SEC, the biggest game of the year between No. 1 and No. 2 LSU Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide had LSU winning 9-6 in overtime -- obviously, they will retain the top spot. The loss by Alabama is only expected to drop them one spot to No. 3 and will spark the rematch debate between Alabama and LSU for the BCS title.
