The 5-5 (0-0) Georgia Bulldogs mens basketball team hosts the Atlantic Sun Conference's 7-4 (1-1) Mercer Bears on Tuesday night in Stegeman Coliseum at 7 p.m. ET. The Bears are the hotter team as of late as the Bulldogs have lost four of their last five games.
The Bulldogs won four of their first five games, including a 61-57 win over the Big East's Notre Dame, but then dropped four games in a row before they finally won again on Saturday at USC. The Bears also won four of their first five games, losing only to no. 25 Mizzou, and they've managed not to lose two games in a row so far this season.
Georgia is led by freshman guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who is averaging 14.2 points per game, and senior guard Gerald Robinson, who is currently averaging 13. The Bears are led by sophomore guard Langston Hall, scoring 13.6 points per game, and senior forward Justin Cecil, who is averaging 11.5 points per game.
The Bears average 70.4 points per game compared to the Bulldogs' 59.8 points per game. Mercer has yet to play a school as big as Georgia but they could give the Bulldogs a run for their money Tuesday night. Odds Shark is predicting a close game in which Mercer wins by a score of 69-63.
The game can be seen on ESPN 3.
