2012 SEC Football Schedule Leaks: Georgia-Alabama Off, South Carolina To October

The Georgia Bulldogs won't play the Alabama Crimson Tide next year, replacing them with the newcomer Missouri Tigers, ESPN's Chris Low reports along with various other nuggets. In addition, UGA's game against the South Carolina Gamecocks -- traditionally the SEC opener for each -- will reportedly be bumped to October.

Both adjustments had been expected, and have already proven quite unpopular with South Carolina fans, who prize the game's customary slot in the SEC schedule.

South Carolina fans are understandably incensed that the Dawgs, fresh off the easiest SEC schedule in modern memory, somehow managed to twist the expansion process to produce an even easier schedule in 2012.

That would leave the Dawgs with the Mississippi Rebels as their West opponent, besides protected rival Auburn. Looks like two straight years of agreeable scheduling for the Dawgs, if all reports are accurate, as Georgia would both get to prep for South Carolina and miss playing Bama.
