SEC Championship 2011: Isaiah Crowell Warming Up, Richard Samuel Out

Stay connected for news and updates

Georgia is out on the field warming up and at least part of the running back picture for the Bulldogs is becoming clearer. Marc Weiszer reports that Richard Samuel was on the field in a jersey but not in pads and doesn't appear to be playing in Saturday's SEC Championship game.

Tailback Richard Samuel (ankle) is on the field in jersey but not in pads. Looks like he's not going today. #UGA

Samuel had ankle surgery after the Bulldogs' win over Florida in Jacksonville. It was hoped by the coaching staff that he would be able to return for today's game.

Without Samuel available and with freshman Isaiah Crowell's status in doubt, Georgia may be left with trusting the tailback position to Carlton Thomas and Brandon Harton in the biggest game of the year.
