SEC Championship 2011: Missed Opportunities Haunt Georgia In 42-10 Loss

Georgia was able to hold its own through the first half but LSU's superior depth became apparent early in the second half as the Tigers simply wore down the Bulldogs. LSU scored 42 unanswered points in route to a 42-10 win over Georgia in the SEC Championship game and an eventual date in the BCS Title game.

The Bulldog defense put up a good effort with all things considered holding the Tigers without a first down in the first half. However, Georgia's offensive struggles in the second half led to some tough spots for the defense.

The offensive numbers aren't pretty on either side except for LSU's rushing numbers. Jordan Jefferson was but 5 for 13 for 30 yards in the game. Alfred Blue rushed eight times for 94 yards and a touchdown. Kenny Hilliard finished with 72 yards and three total touchdowns.

Aaron Murray struggled to find time in the pocket and finished 17 of 40 for 162 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. Tavarres King caught three passes for 59 yards but only one in the second half. Ken Malcome ended up leading the team in rushing with 36 yards on five carries. Isaiah Crowell finished the game with 10 carries and 15 yards.
