Georgia Bulldogs Vs Arkansas Razorbacks Final Score: Dawgs Escape Fayetteville With 60-59 Victory

Georgia shot just 39% for the game and leading scorer Trey Thompkins was held scoreless in the first half due to foul trouble, but Georgia found a way to stop a two game SEC losing streak and pulled out a slim 60-59 victory over Arkansas in Fayetteville.

Trey Thompkins scored all 12 of his points in the second half including the go-ahead free throw with just 1.4 seconds left in the game. Gerald Robinson led all Bulldog scorers with 14 points on 7-13 shooting. Georgia was able to pull this game out in large part due to their domination of the Razorbacks in the rebounding category. The Bulldogs out rebounded Arkansas 38-24 but limited the Razorbacks to just three offensive rebounds which negated any chance they had at second chance points.

Coach Mark Fox had this to say about his team’s performance.

“It was nothing pretty. It was a grind-out game, but fortunately for us we could hang around long enough until we finally found an offensive rhythm and built the lead. Then you play from in front. Arkansas was able to tie it several times but we never fell back behind and I am really proud of our effort.”

Arkansas was led by Marshawn Powell’s 16 points.

Georgia is now 15-6 overall and 4-4 in SEC play. They will take to the court again this Saturday when the Auburn Tigers visit Stegeman Coliseum in Athens.

Georgia Bulldogs Vs. Arkansas Razorbacks: Bulldogs Looking For SEC Road Win In Arkansas

After an exceptional National Signing Day in Athens, the Georgia Hoops team heads back to the hardwood tonight as they travel to Fayetteville to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks. The Bulldogs find themselves at 3-4 in the SEC after dropping consecutive games to Florida and Kentucky last week. If Georgia wants to get back in the NCAA Tournament discussion, then they need to get back on track and string together some wins.

Arkansas checks in at 14-6 overall and 4-3 in the SEC. Currently they sit in second place in the SEC West just a game and a half behind Alabama. The Razorbacks are riding a two game winning streak having defeated Auburn and Vanderbilt in its last two games.

Arkansas holds a 16-11 record against Georgia in the series. Last season Georgia lost the regular season match up in Athens 72-68 but rebounded to defeat Arkansas in the first round of the SEC Tournament 77-64.

Georgia will be looking to slow down Arkansas leading scorer Rotnei Clarke who is averaging 13.7 points per game but exploded for 36 points in his last outing against Vanderbilt.

Tip off is scheduled for 9:00 pm tonight. For more on this game visit Dawg Sports and Arkansas Expats
