Well, that was fast. 2011 college football spreads were posted Saturday by the Golden Nugget, including the Boise St. Broncos by six over the Georgia Bulldogs. I expected that line to slowly shrink by the time the Chick-Fil-A game kicked off, similar to the action of last year's Boise State-Virginia Tech game. Looks like Vegas isn't waiting that long.
One day later, UGA is just a 1.5-point underdog in the Georgia Dome. Hard to say whether bettors are wary of Boise or jumping on an undervalued Dawgs team, though the latter looks to be more likely -- Georgia's spreads against Mississippi State, Florida and Auburn all moved Athens-ward, with the Auburn line doubling and UGA becoming a slight favorite in Jacksonville.
Of course, Boise State's 0-4 all-time record against the SEC might also have something to do with it.
