Hines Ward DUI Arrest Details: Failed Alphabet Sobriety Test After Night At Bottle Bar

Stay connected for news and updates

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Alexis Stevens provides some details on former Georgia Bulldogs WR Hines Ward's Friday night. According to the report, police spotted Ward's gray Aston Martin bumping a curb and making improper lane changes ("running bad routes," so to speak) before pulling him over to find him looking a little tipsy.

That curious one-note field sobriety test: reciting the alphabet from D through X, which apparently provided Ward with some difficulty.

He was driven to the station by former Dawgs teammate and one-time Atlanta Falcons camp invite Corey Allen after spending the evening at Atlanta Hawks center Zaza Pachulia's Buckhead Bottle Bar. This is the most Atlanta-sports DUI report ever.

Ward's agent released a statement Sunday that insisted the Super Bowl MVP and Dancing With The Stars champ was not impaired by alcohol. Based on this side of the story, things don't sound very good, but we'll wait and see.
