It's been reported for quite some time now that Georgia Bulldogs tight end Orson Charles will leave school early and enter the 2012 NFL Draft. Wednesday, he confirmed the news, saying he's met all of his goals as a college player.
He said Aaron Murray, who has a pro future of his own, didn't try to convince him to stay, and added that Arthur Lynch is ready to take over at UGA. He also said he got help from Tony Dungy.
Charles is expected to be drafted in the second or third round. He was a Mackey Award finalist in 2011.
This leaves linebacker Cornelius Washington and safety Bacarri Rambo as the only Dawgs left to make up their minds, as far as one can tell. Star defenders Jarvis Jones and John Jenkins, along with Murray, have made it clear they'll return. All this returning talent is one reason Georgia's showing up very well-ranked on preseason top 25 lists.
