Unlike the 2011 Super Bowl, the Peach State sports fan has no real rooting interests in Super Bowl XLVI. The average Georgian is either from Boston or New York or generally hates Boston and New York, but unless we're working up some intense NFC pride, there's not a lot to work with here.
The only two players from Georgia schools on either roster: former Georgia Bulldogs running back D.J. Ware of the New York Giants and former Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets linebacker Gary Guyton of the New England Patriots. So there you go.
Fifth-year back Ware has emerged as more of a receiver than a runner, posting 333 total yards for the regular season, adding 68 against the 49ers after putting up only 17 combined against the Falcons and Packers. Guyton, in his fourth year, had 47 tackles and an interception this year, but has yet to post any numbers in the postseason.
