Josh Harvey-Clemons Takes Mark Richt To Church

Josh Harvey-Clemons, the top uncommitted LB in the state of Georgia in the class of 2012, has taken a slightly different approach to the recruiting frenzy. While Harvey-Clemons is expected to announce on national signing day a commitment to Georgia, a report in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution may have shed some light on his apparent connection with the program.

A devout Christian, he is taking Georgia football coach Mark Richt to the Wednesday services of at a small Baptist church near his hometown of Lowndes County:

"[Will Muschamp] came to our regular service about a month ago; I guess Coach Richt doesn’t want to let Coach Muschamp beat him out with going to church with us," said Josh’s grandfather, Woodrow Clemons, with a laugh.

Florida, Florida State and Georgia have been locked in an intense recruiting battle for the 6'5 200 LB, who said he would announce his decision on National Signing Day on Feb. 1.

Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher wanted to attend the services, but could not because Richt had already committed.

Richt's well-known Christian beliefs may be an advantage in recruiting Clemons, as his family has emphasized that it will be an important part of their decision.
