The Dogs, hoping to repeat their success of last season, open SEC play against a tested and proven Alabama team.
Georgia (9-5, 0-0 SEC) will open play with Alabama (11-3, 0-0 SEC) tonight at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens at 7 p.m. ET, as the Bulldogs look to repeat their successful conference run of the 2010-'11 season that saw them post a 9-7 record in SEC play, their best mark in eight years. Senior guard Dustin Ware put up 15 points in a 58-51 home win over Delaware State a week ago.
Alabama won both of last year's meetings, including a second round victory in the SEC Tournament, 65-59. The Dogs enter the game winners of five straight, including a road victory at Southern Cal December 17, after having lost five of six. Bama boasted the conference's toughest out-of-conference schedule, and has won their last three games, including a 73-48 blowout of Georgia Tech.
