Mario Alford Could Be Late Addition To Georgia's 2012 Recruiting Class

The Georgia Bulldogs could possibly add a late addition to its 2012 signing class and is reportedly taking a closer look at track star Mario Alford of Georgia Military College. Alford would be listed as an athlete at Georgia and according to Rusty Mansell of 247Sports, could end up playing anywhere from wide receiver, the defensive secondary, or maybe even the offensive backfield.

Alford was recruited for his speed as he won the state title in the 100 meters as a junior with a time of 10.77 seconds. He didn't sign with any college because he ended up qualifying late and enrolled at Georgia Military where he was one of its key players this season.

For now Georgia is still only scouting Alford but may decide to extend an offer due to the loss of two defensive backs in Nick Marshall and Chris Sanders along with wide receiver Sanford Seay. There was an earlier report that at least part of the dismissed players could end up at Georgia Military College after being dismissed from Georgia. If that works out and the Bulldogs grab Alford it would set up an unintentional trade of talent between the two schools.
