The Apparently New And Improved Isaiah Crowell Wants To Win A Heisman

Despite the fact he was built of glass between his hips and feet his freshman season, and was seen pouting around the sidelines as recently as the SEC Championship Game, Isaiah Crowell is enjoying offseason hype entering his sophomore season that's on par with the sizzle surrounding his commitment to the Bulldogs last year.

Crowell is practicing as the No. 1 running back on the depth chart - and apparently looking good in the process - in Spring ball for UGA, and told the AJC he wants to be the best back in the game:

"My first goal is just to be a good teammate and help my team get to the national championship," he said. "My second goal is I'm trying to run for the Heisman."

Why should this be alarming for UGA fans? Montee Ball scored 28 more touchdowns than Crowell last season, and was a distant fourth in the Heisman. And despite the fact he might be the "starter," it's expected UGA will platoon Crowell with Richard Samuel and hyped freshman Keith Marshall. Feature back, he won't be.

What sounds warm, fuzzy and positive in March might become another dose of sideline pout fodder come November.
