The 2012 NCAA Tournament continues in Atlanta as Baylor and Xavier square off for a spot in the Elite 8.
Xavier and Baylor will open play in the Atlanta Regional Friday night at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta Georgia. Both teams come in with a lot of tournament experience. Baylor is trying to advance to its second straight Elite 8 while Xavier has been in the Sweet 16 four of the last five years.
Baylor comes into Friday's game as the three seed and having defeated South Dakota State and Colorado to reach the Sweet 16. Xavier is a 10 seed and knocked off Notre Dame and Lehigh on their path to Atlanta.
After a brilliant start to the season, Xavier's season turned rocky after an ugly brawl with Cincinnati. They were able to put the pieces back together late and enter Friday's matchup with a 21-12 record. Baylor was a popular upset pick early on but find themselves in the Sweet 16 with a 27-7 record.
