Vince Dooley Says 'It's Time For A Change' In Athens

Ever since legendary Georgia football coach Vince Dooley lost a power struggle with school president Michael Adams in 2004, with Adams refusing to extend Dooley's contract as the school's athletic director, the two haven't been on great terms.

So when Adams announced that he would step down from his position in 2013, it's no great surprise that Dooley welcomed the news in a statement to the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer:

"I commend President Adams on his retirement, his service and his contributions to the University of Georgia. I do believe it is time for a change. And I look forward to the Bulldog nation uniting under new leadership in the near future."

I followed by asking if Dooley had any new feelings after everything that happened.

"I don't need to have anything else to say right now," he said. "I've already said things in the book and everything else, I don't want to get into that."
