UGA Football Offseason: Vince Dooley Thinks Losing Isaiah Crowell Is Good For Bulldogs

Georgia was picked by many to win the SEC East in 2012 long before Isaiah Crowell was dismissed from the team. Losing its No. 1 tailback may send many prognosticators to find their eraser but according to former coach and Bulldog legend Vince Dooley losing Crowell may turn out to be a good thing for the 2012 Bulldogs.

Dooley elaborated by saying that while Crowell was talented and probably the best running back on the roster but was also a troublemaker and a distraction and the negative effects outweighed the positives.

"I don't want to put any pressure on them, but losing that guy may have been the best thing to happen to them. It was a bad-apple type thing, if you ask me."

He went on to call Crowell a "Bad Apple" and said that losing a player like that would often unite a team.

"That kind of thing will unite a team many times," Dooley said. "Historically when things like this have happened in the past, they tend to have a unifying effect on teams. They go on to have an even better season than they were predicted to have."
