Georgia Football Recruiting: Safety Quincy Mauger Is Commitment No. 20

Stay connected for news and updates

Georgia got some good news prior to "Dawg Night" on Friday, as safety Quincy Mauger publicly announced his commitment to the Bulldogs.

Mauger committed to Georgia coach Mark Richt a week ago, but kept it a secret from his mother and the public until they drove to Athens for the "Dawg Night" recruiting event. He received an offer at a Georgia camp last month.

From the Atlanta Journal Constitution:

"I love the coaching staff at Georgia," Mauger said. "They are very well-connected with the kids. I got to sit down with an engineering professor, and we got to talking some about my decision and everything I needed to know when it comes to engineering. I'm going to major in engineering.

"I picked Georgia because it has everything I need to be successful with academics and on the football. It's a great opportunity, and I took it"
