Jordan Davis Commits To Georgia Football Over Florida

Georgia picked up commitment No. 23 for its 2013 class on Sunday when tight end Jordan Davis picked the Bulldogs over Florida. Davis is a 6-foot-4, 220 pound tight end out of Thomson High School and pointed to the Bulldogs' history of turning out solid tight end prospects as part of the reasoning for his decision.

"Georgia is like Tight End U," Davis said. "I called Coach Richt and told him I wanted to be a Bulldog. I am already a Bulldog (at Thomson)...so it was perfect."

Davis also had considered South Carolina and had offers from NC State and Louisville. He received his offer from the Bulldogs during Mark Richt Camp in June. It was mostly because I felt at home at Georgia," Davis said. "Plus, Georgia just outmatched everybody else in everything, and my mom ... that was the place she liked the best. It's just an hour away from home."

Georgia's 23 commitments for 2013 trail only Texas A&M in the SEC. The Bulldogs are expected to take advantage of some early entry candidates and sign a large class in 2013 to help offset their well publicized roster attrition.
