Tennessee Vs. Georgia: Abry Jones, Shawn Williams Both Expected To Play Saturday

Stay connected for news and updates

The Georgia Bulldogs will be monitoring two key injuries on defense as they prepare to host Tennessee on Saturday in Athens, as corner Shawn Williams was bothered by a hamstring in warm-ups against Vanderbilt, and defensive end Abry Jones left the blowout win over Vanderbilt with an ankle injury.

Per Jones, Richt told reporters Sunday he had yet to receive an update but didn't think the injury was serious. As for Williams, the cornerback will practice as normal and didn't actually miss any time against the Commodores (quote courtesy of the Athens Banner-Herald:)

"He thought he pulled it while he was stretching, but it was more of a spasm. It just kind of tightened up on him. It kind of shook him up. He thought maybe he had pulled it. It turned out it wasn’t thankfully. I’m not saying it didn’t bother throughout the game. You’d really have to ask him how much it bothered him, but he played the majority of the game."
