Tennessee vs. Georgia: Malcolm Mitchell splitting time between offense, defense

Stay connected for news and updates

Malcolm Mitchell will begin splitting his time for the Georgia Bulldogs between the offense and the defense, the Macon Telegraph reports. Originally a wide receiver, the sophomore spent the first four games of the season as a cornerback.

With safety Bacarri Rambo returning from suspension, the defense is no longer quite so thin in the secondary, and so Mitchell can transition back to offense. For his part, Mitchell doesn't seem bothered by being asked to play one position or another, simply stating that he'd like to help out any way he could. Quoted in the Telegraph:

"I knew from the beginning what it was gonna be. Of course I came over to help while they were gone. At that point it was just whatever needed to be done. To me it doesn't really bother me which way I go. I just want to have fun and win."

Georgia faces the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday.
