Georgia Vs. Kentucky: Shawn Williams says Bulldogs defense needs to 'execute the gameplan better'

Georgia Bulldogs senior safety Shawn Williams believes that the Bulldogs' defense needs to 'execute better.'

Prior to the season, Georgia Bulldogs safety Shawn Williams had high expectations for his defense. Per Dog Bytes, Williams wanted the defense to be the "best in the country."

Unfortunately for Williams, Georgia's defense has allowed 24.2 points per game, including 35 to South Carolina, in Georgia's embarrassing 35-7 loss to the Gamecocks.

If you ask Williams, the Bulldogs simply need to execute better on defense.

"It gets very discouraging," Williams said. "You have people saying other defenses are doing this and that. As I look at it, those guys are not better than ours, but we're just not getting the job done and they are. I guess we've just got to come out and execute the gameplan better. That's all it is."

Prior to Georgia's game against South Carolina, the Bulldogs' defense allowed a whopping 44 points to the Tennessee Volunteers -- the second highest point total for the Volunteers this season.

All is not lost for Georgia, however, as the Bulldogs still have a good chance of playing in a BCS game -- and potentially, the BCS championship game. Georgia's defense will need to improve and execute better, like Williams said, or else the Bulldogs will find themselves asking "what if?" when the season is over.
