Georgia vs. Kentucky: John Theus not bothered by criticism

Ed Zurga

John Theus isn't letting criticism affect his performance on the field.

Prior to Georgia's game against South Carolina, ESPN analyst -- and former UGA football player -- David Pollack called Bulldogs offensive lineman John Theus a liability. Theus said later that he was not bothered by the remark.

"Reporters say stuff," Theus said. "It is what it is. Pollack was a great player here, and he does his job and he does it well. His opinion is his opinion. It doesn't bother me at all."

Theus, who is a true freshman, was one of the top offensive line prospects in the class of 2012, according to Rivals. And while he was not bothered by Pollack's comment, he said that his mother took offense.

The Bulldogs lost to South Carolina, 35-7, on Oct. 6, and they were off last weekend. This week, their focus is on the Kentucky Wildcats. At 3-1 in conference play, Georgia is in third place in the SEC East, behind Florida and the Gamecocks.
