Georgia Vs. Kentucky: Freshman impress for Bulldogs

Stay connected for news and updates

Kevin Liles-US PRESSWIRE

The Georgia Bulldogs have a number of impressive freshman on both offense and defense, including top 10 SEC rushers Todd Gurley and Keith Marshal.

The Georgia Bulldogs have a number of strong freshman, notes Seth Emerson at the Macon Telegraph. Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall lead the class, contributing to a rushing attack that has Georgia picking up 226.5 rush yards per game.

Both Gurley and Marshall are ranked in the top 10 in the SEC in rushing yards, and Georgia's run game is No. 19 in the FBS. John Theus is another freshman contributing on offense. He hasn't shined quite like the running backs have, but his play is steadily improving and he held strong pass rusher Devin Taylor without a sack in the Bulldogs' loss to South Carolina.

Jordan Jenkins is a freshman making an impact on defense. He has three sacks, second-most on the team, and his sack fumble was crucial in slamming the door on Tennessee. Josh Harvey-Clemons is one freshman still waiting to shine, but in the meantime he's been so impressive on special teams that he's been named a captain for the game against Kentucky. He's been starting on the kickoff, kickoff return and punt teams.
