Jarvis Jones has 5 ½ sacks in just five games for the Bulldogs this season.
The Georgia Bulldogs will get All-American linebacker Jarvis Jones back on Saturday, when they take on the Florida Gators. Jones sat out Georgia's game last weekend against Kentucky with a sprained right ankle.
That injury occurred on what Jones described as a "freak play," but he now appears to be close to 100 percent health. Jones told the media on Tuesday that he was able to participate in practice, completing almost all of the team's activities.
Jones also missed time earlier in the season with a strained groin. Because of that, Jones has played in only five of Georgia's seven games. Still, he has racked up an impressive 37 tackles and 5 ½ sacks. Last season the linebacker led the SEC with 13 ½ sacks.
Jones and the Georgia defense will look to shut down the Florida offense, which averages just 350.4 yards per game (third-worst in the SEC). Still, Florida has gone undefeated so far this season by not turning the ball over. Through seven games, Florida has thrown just one interception.
