Daniel Shirey-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The Bulldogs are moving on without receiver Michael Bennett.

The Georgia Bulldogs lost leading receiver Michael Bennett to a major knee injury during practice on Tuesday, and now they will have to rely on their depth at the position to lead the passing game going forward. According to head coach Mark Richt, the injury to Bennett came on the last play of practice. Richt believes that the receiving corps will be okay, saying "I think we're still going to be fine, but we're losing a guy that I personally think helped the toughness of our unit the way he went about his business, even when he was redshirted."

Bennett caught 24 passes for 345 yards and four touchdowns through the first five games of the season and led the team in all three categories. Tavarres King is second on the team with 16 catches for 307 yards and three scores; Marlon Brown is the only other Bulldogs receiver with double-digit receptions.
