Georgia vs. South Carolina: Jarvis Jones may not be completely healthy

Daniel Shirey-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

A groin injury could still be nagging linebacker Jarvis Jones.

Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Jarvis Jones suffered a groin injury during the team's win at Missouri on Sept. 8, and head coach Mark Richt isn't sure that Jones is back to 100 percent just yet.

The injury forced Jones to sit out Georgia's game against Florida Atlantic the following week, which the Bulldogs won comfortably. He is third on the team in tackles with 32 and leads the Bulldogs in both sacks (4.5) and tackles for loss (8).

Jones has been able to play in each of the team's last two games, though he has just one sack in that time. Despite the potentially nagging injury, he is on pace for double-digit sacks for the second season in a row -- he finished 2011 with 13.5 sacks and led the SEC in that category as well as and tackles for loss. Those numbers helped him earn first team All-SEC honors and made him a finalist for the Butkus Award.
