Chris Burnette Injury: Bulldogs OL could miss Georgia Southern game

Georgia might be without one of their offensive guards again Saturday.

Georgia Bulldogs offensive guard Chris Burnette is questionable for Saturday's game against Georgia Southern, according to DogBytesOnline.com's Marc Weiszer.

Georgia coach Mark Richt said Sunday that Burnette is making progress:

"Chris we don't know yet, we'll just have to see," Richt said. "He has been making progress. We almost took him on the trip to come as an emergency guy. In fact, earlier in the week we thought he was coming on the trip."

Burnette was injured in the first half of Georgia's 37-10 win over the Mississippi Rebels on Nov. 3. He suffered a contusion to his left shoulder and had his arm in a sling.

Even without Burnette, Richt was happy with how his offensive line performed.

"I thought our line blocked extremely well," Richt told reporters. "There were a few times here and there where they didn't get the job done quite right, but for the most part we ran the ball well, we blocked very well in the run game."

Burnette is a 6'2 junior out of LaGrange, Ga. He started 19 straight games for the Bulldogs before missing last Saturday's game against Auburn

Georgia hosts Georgia Southern at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
