Georgia vs. Auburn: Linebacker Amarlo Herrera wary of struggling Tigers

Kevin C. Cox

Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Amarlo Herrera is not taking the Auburn Tigers lightly going into Saturday's game.

Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Amarlo Herrera understands that while his team may have the advantage entering Saturday's game against the Auburn Tigers, the Tigers enter as a team with nothing to lose. Herrera knows that means that they will be doing whatever it takes to beat the Bulldogs and ruin their chance to clinch the SEC East and go to the SEC Championship game. He told the Journal Constitution:

"When you have nothing to lose, you can throw everything you've got at the team you're going against to try and upset them. That's your main goal in that situation, to upset their season just like your season has been upset. You always have to play hard against a team like that because they're going to lay it all out there."

One of the keys to this game according to Herrera is to set the tone of the game in their favor and not let the Tigers get any momentum:

"You always have to try and set the tone early. You have to come out and start quick, and set the tone fast so you won't help them out in anyway. It's very important for us to go out and play hard right off the bat so that we can set the tone for the rest of the game."

Herrera also discussed facing freshman quarterback Jonathan Wallace of the Tigers. He said that because a younger player doesn't understand the game as players who have played for longer in college, Wallace could be easily rattled.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to play the Tigers on Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium at Auburn. The game is set for a 7 p.m. ET kickoff and will be broadcast on ESPN2.
