Georgia Southern Vs. North Dakota State, FCS Playoffs 2011 Semifinals: Eagles Meet Fierce Rush D

The Eagles quest for a seventh national championship goes through Fargo, North Dakota, and a fierce Bison rushing defense.

Georgia Southern used three interceptions and 360 yards of rushing to beat Maine in last week's FCS quarterfinals in Statesboro. Now they'll hit the road for the first time in the 2011 Playoffs, facing 12-1 North Dakota State Saturday afternoon  in Fargo, North Dakota with a chance to play in the FCS Championship in Frisco, Texas, on the line.

The Eagles' triple option has largely rolled without resistance thus far in the playoffs, totaling at least 300 yards offense in the last three games. But the Bison's rush defense averages only 115 yards allowed per game this season, the lowest per-game average of a GSU playoff opponent this season. Sophomore Robert Brown (937 yards) and freshman Dominque Swope (927 yards) are aiming to become the Eagles first pair of 1,000 yard rushers since 2005.

The winner of Saturday's game will meet either top-seeded Sam Houston State or Montana in the 2012 Division 1 Football Championship at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas, January 7.

Date, time: Saturday, December 17, 2:30 p.m. ET

Location: The Fargodome, Fargo, North Dakota
