Georgia Southern looks to get back to winning as they host Elon on Saturday.

Georgia Southern is eager to get back to playing football so that they can move on from their 23-21 loss to The Citadel two weeks ago. Heading into the season, Georgia Southern was highly regarded as a team that could win the national title. They were ranked No. 3 in the preseason, but after the loss they dropped down to No. 11.

Senior linebacker John Stevenson felt bad about the loss to Citadel, and emphasized the need to get back on the field:

"The Citadel is a good football team," Stevenson said. "It was tough in the locker room after the game, but you have to stay positive.

"The season doesn't stop because you lost a game. We'll be hungrier when we come back on the field. I just wish we were playing (this) Saturday. It's going to be a long wait until the next game."

That next opportunity to get back on field will come at 6 p.m. on Sept. 22 at Paulson Stadium against Elon.
