Georgia Southern will try to put Saturday's loss to Georgia behind them as they focus on the postseason.
Georgia Southern suffered a 45-14 loss to Georgia on Saturday, but Eagles head coach Jeff Monken is focusing on the upcoming FCS playoffs and the not his team's loss to the Bulldogs.
Monken said he learns more about his team after a win than a loss, and he's happy to put the game against Georgia behind him while looking ahead to the playoffs.
Monken told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the team "can go to bed tonight knowing that we are in."
Despite the loss, Georgia Southern finished the season 8-3 overall and 6-2 in the Southern conference. The Eagles earned one of the ten automatic bids in the FCS playoff bracket after Citadel defeated Furman, 42-20.
Georgia Southern finished in a three-way tie for first place in the conference with Wofford and Appalachian State. Each team finished 1-1 against the other two this season.
Georgia Southern will find out who its opponent in the first round of the FCS playoffs will be on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
