The Georgia Southern football team earned the No. 5 seed in the FCS Tournament, the NCAA announced Sunday.

The Eagles will play Central Arkansas in the second round of the FCS Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 2 p.m.

Georgia Southern enters the FCS Tournament with an 8-3 overall record and a 6-2 record in the Southern Conference. The Eagles won six games in a row in the middle of the season before losing two of their last three games.

The Eagles finished their season with a 45-14 loss to No. 5 Georgia on Saturday.

The Bears enter the FCS Tournament with a 9-2 overall record and a 6-1 record in the Southland Conference. Central Arkansas finished the season on a six-game winning streak.

If the Eagles win, they'll play the weekend of Dec. 7-8 against an opponent to be determined. The winner of Bethune-Cookman and Coastal Carolina will play No. 4 Old Dominion. The winner of that game would play Georgia Southern or Central Arkansas.
