Georgia Southern is playing for a Southern Conference title when they face Appalachian State on Saturday.

Georgia Southern hosts Appalachian State on Saturday looking to claim a share of the Southern Conference title with a win. The Eagles' top-ranked scoring defense is going to be challenged by Appalachian State's passing attack, which ranks second in the league with 268.9 passing yards per game.

Jerick McKinnon leads the team with 734 rushing yards and eight touchdowns and is averaging just under 100 yards per game. McKinnon has also thrown three touchdown passes in just 9 completions.

Appalachian State (6-3, 4-2) has won five of their last six contests.

Saturday's matchup is the third-straight between Appalachian State and Georgia Southern in which one of the two teams has been ranked No. 1 nationally in one of the major NCAA Division I FCS polls, with the Eagles being ranked No. 1 in the coaches poll.

Georgia Southern has won its last six games since dropping its only loss of the season to Citadel. The Appalachian State game starts at 2 p.m. ET on ESPN3.
