Georgia State Vs. St. Francis: Panthers Fall In Overtime To NAIA Foe

Sean Murray's 30-yard field goal in overtime gave NAIA school St Francis an improbable 30-27 overtime victory over Georgia State at the Georgia Dome. The Saints outscored the Panthers 20-3 in the fourth quarter to force overtime where they eventually won the game.

Kelton Hill led the Panthers with 197 yards passing, 98 yards rushing and scored three touchdowns. However, St. Francis controlled the ball and the game with nearly six minutes more of time of possession and gained 475 total yards on offense.

The breakdowns for the Panthers in the fourth quarter were a familiar trend this season. Georgia State has been outscored 95-13 in the fourth quarter this season. St Francis recovered an on-side kick with just 1:22 left and were able to engineer a flawless drive to tie the game.

The Panthers went backwards in overtime and missed a field-goal attempt that would have at least given them a chance to advance to a second overtime. The loss drops the Panthers record to 2-7 on the season.

On the loss, Bill Curry apologized for his team's recurring lack of execution in the fourth quarter
